Membership in IAAP secures your employment growth potential. It is a next step in differentiating yourself from others in your profession. Professional development and corporate finesse will put IAAP members ahead of others and allow them to become more effective contributors in the workplace, a valuable asset in today's marketplace.
How can you become a member of IAAP? Review the three types of membership below and find the one appropriate for you.
- Professional - A currently employed (or within the last two years) administrative professional, a holder of the CAP rating, or an employed teacher of business education.
- Student - A full-time student in business education (maximum of four-years in this Student classification).
- Associate - An individual, firm, or educational institution that sustains the objectives of IAAP. For business or institution, provide name and address of contact person.

CALIFORNIA DIVISION
MEMBERS ARE...
- Diverse
The Division's approximately 1,000 members work in an exceptionally wide variety of industries including agriculture, health care, government, technology, energy and more.
- Educated
Professional education opportunities targeted to administrative professionals happen all year long. The Division's premier event is its Annual Educational Forum and California Division Meeting held each June.
- Leaders
Members continuously develop their voices and skills as they grow into chapter, division, and international leadership roles within IAAP and exhibit leadership in the workplace. Specifically, Leadership Forums held in both Northern and Southern California reach out to future IAAP leaders.

A strong 57-year California Division history enhances IAAP services provided to today's members.

The California Division networking experience is like no other. Individual members are as different as San Francisco and Riverside, and they all have expertise and ideas to share.

California Division members build at the local level the relationships IAAP has established at the international level with great companies like OfficeTeam and Avery Dennison.
- Certified
About 1,500 Californian's hold an active Certified Administrative Professional Rating (CAP), many of them with the additional specialty of Organizational Management (CAP-OM), from IAAP.
- Committed to Excellence
For the 2008-2009 year, six chapters in California attained IAAP's Chapter of Excellence status and fifty members achieved Member of Excellence status.
